Agreement Covers All Owned and Managed Properties and Most Marriott Brands Worldwide
US Rollout to Begin in Early 2010
Newport Beach, CA—November 17, 2009—BirchStreet Systems, Inc, the recognized leader in hospitality procurement technology, today announces it has reached an agreement with Marriott International for the use of BirchStreet’se-Procurement system in Marriott’s owned and managed properties worldwide. The agreement includes the following brands:
- Marriott
- JW Marriott
- Execustay
- Courtyard by Marriott
- Renascence
- Fairfield Inn & Suites
- Residence Inn
- SpringHill Suites
- Townplace Suites
“Marriott International has been our customer in the United Kingdom where 60 Marriott and Renaissance hotels have been using our e-Procurement platform since the spring of 2006. We’re very excited to have reached this agreement signifying a major milestone in Marriott’s adoption of BirchStreet’s e-Procurement solution,” says Doug Sanborn, President of BirchStreet Systems, Inc. “The US rollout is scheduled to begin in early 2010 and will continue into 2011. As word of this agreement has spread throughout the Marriott estate we are receiving inquiries from corporate managed Marriott properties from all over the world. The international deployment is being planned now.”
The agreement covers the following BirchStreet applications: e-Procurement—including Workflow Approval and Declining Checkbook—as well as Inventory and Recipe Management. Although most properties will use the e-Procurement platform to provide corporate visibility into purchasing activity worldwide, the use of BirchStreet’s other applications will be determined on a property-by-property basis.
