Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Deploys Comprehensive Inventory Control Application from BirchStreet Systems
Premier Arizona Resort Replaces Legacy Inventory System with BirchStreet
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 18, 2011 – BirchStreet Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Procure-to-Pay solutions to the hospitality industry, today announced that the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale has gone live with the latest edition of BirchStreet’s Inventory Control application for storeroom management.
Designed for the demands of complex food and beverage operations, the Inventory Control application is a full-featured, perpetual inventory system offering unlimited inventory locations, multiple valuation methods, electronic requisitions and fulfillment (issue) to outlets, automated PO generation and specific features to handle catch-weight items. The application also features Fast Implementation Tools (FIT), which provide many powerful, easy-to-use tools to simplify and automate implementation. FIT was particularly important for the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale as they needed to convert data from their legacy system to bring the application online quickly, without burdening existing resources.
The property replaced their previous legacy inventory system with the BirchStreet web-based solution because they were seeking productivity gains that a fully-integrated procurement and inventory system like BirchStreet offers. The solution connects all of Hyatt’s full-service properties in the U.S., offering productivity advantages at the property level while allowing corporate purchasing to aggregate purchasing data across all hotels in a single report.
“We are receiving very positive feedback from customers about the new version of our Inventory Control application,” said Doug Sanborn, president of BirchStreet Systems. “We’re thrilled that the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale is now live with our solution. This property has a very complex food and beverage operation and is well suited to fully tap the functionality that we’ve built into all aspects of our inventory control solution.”
The relationship with BirchStreet and the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale dates back to September 2008, when the hotel began using BirchStreet’s e-Procurement application for purchasing as well as several other features including the integrated Declining Checkbook to track operating budgets in real time, and Workflow Approvals to automate, document and standardize approval policies. With the adoption of BirchStreet’s Inventory Control application, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale is one of the first to leverage FIT.
A destination for championship golf and relaxation, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa offers 493 luxury guestrooms, 70,000 square feet of function space and seven restaurants and bars. The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale also features the world-class Spa Avania.
