Luxury Hotel Brand to Deploy Enterprise Scale Procurement Solution
Newport Beach, Calif., November 7, 2007 – BirchStreet Systems today announced that it has signed an agreement with Omni Hotels to provide its online e-Procurement System across the brand. The six year agreement also includes implementation services and a custom interface with Omni’s ERP system.
The BirchStreet Application Suite will provide Omni Hotels with a single online portal on which to conduct all procurement activity. In addition to streamlining the procure-to-pay cycle, the system and its built-in data warehouse will provide real-time visibility and analytics on all procurement activity across all properties, as well as top-down control over product choices, brand standards, supplier contract compliance and purchasing procedures and controls.
“We are very excited to be working with Omni Hotels and welcome them to the BirchStreet family,” said Doug Sanborn, president and CEO of BirchStreet Systems. “Our solution is a natural fit for a luxury hotel brand like Omni Hotels and will work seamlessly with the company’s current procurement activities and suppliers.”
BirchStreet provides an ideal procurement solution for hospitality companies, food service organizations, hospitals, universities and other organizations that conduct a mix of food and non-food purchasing activity. The BirchStreet Application Suite can be run as a single-property package or as an enterprise-wide solution to help organizations identify their collective buying power, improve operational execution and lower costs. The software is focused on organizations where food and beverage represents a significant part of purchasing activity and includes numerous features to accommodate the unique needs of the food service industry. Additionally, BirchStreet customers can leverage existing interfaces with thousands of hospitality and food service suppliers and distributors.
“Our investment in BirchStreet’s solution will help us automate and track our procurement procedures and give us instant online visibility into our activities across all of our hotels,” said Jim Kuthy, Omni’s vice president of procurement and capital finance. “We plan on running all purchases through BirchStreet, including Food & Beverage, which represents a significant portion of our total procurement volume. BirchStreet’s special F&B features, coupled with the fact that they already have a significant majority of our largest suppliers within their system, will allow quick implementation.”
